On October 23, the Shaanxi Silk Road Country and Regional Research Special International Conference was held in our city. The conference was hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and undertaken by Northwest University and the Silk Road Humanities Research Center of Northwest University. More than 100 Chinese and foreign guests attended the opening ceremony.
In the report session, 26 Chinese experts from the Academic Advisory Committee of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies and 10 Central Asian and Middle Eastern scholars from the Kyrgyz National University of Alabayev spoke successively. They conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as regional country studies and the coordinated development of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, regional country studies and the construction of new think tanks, the social functions and practical values of regional country studies, and the exchange mechanism of Shaanxi regional country studies, and reached a number of consensuses on future cooperation.
A relevant person in charge of the Provincial Party Committee’s Education Working Committee stated that jointly building the “Belt and Road” has further promoted the development of regional and country studies. He hoped that representatives of various institutions attending the meeting could strengthen academic exchanges, enhance results output, establish close contacts, and comprehensively promote the high-level development of Shaanxi’s regional and country studies, and make greater contributions to serving the high-quality development of countries and regions participating in the “Belt and Road” initiative.
